There are more vibrators out there in the world than there are cars on the road. So how do you decide what to get? The following considerations can help you to select the right vibrator for yourself or another.
A Note on Phthalates
Phthalates (pronounced "tha-lates") are chemical plasticizers that are added to materials to increase their flexibility, transparency, durability and longevity. They may have negative health implications, so are best to avoid.
- All Jimmyjane products are phthalate-free. Phthalates are suspected of having carcinogenic and mutagenic effects on the skin and mucous membranes, and are being phased out of many products in the United States and European Union over health concerns. It is advisable to avoid products made of materials that incorporate them.
- Phthalates are often associated with sex accessories made of PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) and “Jelly” materials, but it should be noted that not all PVCs contain phthalates, and that even some silicone blends can contain them so look for brands and products that specifically state that they are free of these chemicals.
